Randomness

* RIP Ernie Baron. Died of a heart attack caused by complications of diabetes.

* Kobe scores 81pts against Toronto. AND he hands out 2 assists. Better than his 62pt no assist performance against Dallas.

* Got me another Ford GT40 from Hotwheels. The only question I have about it is the scale. I have a Dub City 1:64 Ford GT and two Hotwheels Ford GT40's. Now I know the new Ford GT is supposed to be bigger but is it really THAT big compared to the old one? Or are the scales of Dub City and Hotwheels different?

* My trusty iPod is out of commission. Sent to Singapore for repairs, good thing warranty was still in effect. I just don't get it why it got damaged. All I did was upload a new software into it, and I followed all the steps properly. Sheesh.

* Still don't have my cash. Bank is still messed up so I'm pretty much "running on fumes" if I could use that term financially.

* My imagination is coming back. I've got this character design I'm doodling with and if I have the time I can upload a sketch of it. Now all I have to do is think of stories. And maybe learn 2D animation because as I see it my character looks better in 2D than in 3D although a 3D version MAY still show up.

* Still waiting for the PS3 but from the video reviews I've downloaded at Gametrailers the XBox 360 is making its presence felt. At least for me, since I decided long ago (never to walk in anyone's shadow) that I was buying a PS3. Or at least saving up for it.

* Went to this car show at Tiendesitas in Pasig. Saw a couple of classic Celica's. 70's Celicas. Man if I had lots of cash and an old Celica... But an old VW Beetle is still my number one car for "Ganification".

On Swearing

Some people hate it when they hear swear words. And I guess they do have a point, it is an earful to hear them. But there are times when swearing adds "flavor" to one's sentences.

Swearing emphasizes. Take for example the sentence, "The service of that bank is really lousy." Good enough, right? It shows how displeased you are at the bank. But what if you weren't just displeased? What if you really hated the service and you wanted to emphasize that? Here's how I would say that with swear words.

"That bank's service is fucking crappy."

Take note that I don't usually swear in English. I swear in Tagalog. However for the sake of this blog I've decided to translate my thoughts into English.

Might I digress a bit? It seems that swearing in Tagalog is a lot harsher and sounds better than in English. I don't know if it's just me but the things you can come up with in Tagalog are a lot worse than in English. Rolls off the tongue much smoother, too.

Anyway. I swear. All the time. And when I do swear it means that I'm most likely comfortable with the person I am with. Or it could mean that I hate the person I am with so much that I'd rather let them think I am a brute just so we don't have to see each other again. But that's another story, and that rarely happens.

So what's wrong with swearing?

Nevermind.

Something Troubles My Mind

"The quantity of speech is not always indicative of the quality of thought."
- Monty Brown, TNA Wrestler

Something troubles me. Something big.

Luck, as it would seem, doesn't seem to be siding with me. She is a fickle mistress who can turn on you in an instant, one minute caressing you with her loving touch, the next ripping at your throat with her long, sharp nails.

Some people progress through life quite easily. They get what they want, they get away with anything, and they live "happily." I use quotation marks simply because I do not really know if they are happy, or if the smiles they put on in public is a facade, hiding all the sorrow and fears they really have. But they seem happy.

Some people get through life using excessive amounts of bullshit and bravado. Never enough substance, but they more than compensate for that with all the lies and sweet talk that comes out of their mouths. They are the people who don't really have to prove anything and yet they get everything. That infuriates me.

I try to show my worth not through word of mouth, but rather through action. I walk the walk, and I try not to talk the talk. Because speaking has never been my forte. And talking bull was never one of my strong points either. (For those of you who know where I studied I'm sure you'll say, "But you come from Ateneo de Manila High School, where bullshit is discreetly taught to you and is extremely prevalent in classrooms." Well I hate bullshit.)

And yet despite the fact that I try to let actions speak louder than words, sometimes people who do the exact opposite come out ahead of me. I'm not going to name names, but I certainly think some people I know don't deserve the position they were in. Sure luck played a role in them getting where they are right now. But they also got to where they are by spewing excessive amounts of bovine excrement from their mouths in order to rise above the rest.

A hollow victory. Yet a victory nonetheless.

Here I am, still in my (relative) youth and yet embittered by what I have seen. Pissed off above normal standards and full of angst. That's the way I am. I want justice. I want equality. I want people to get what they deserve not because they sweet-talked their way into it but because they worked damn hard for it.

Perhaps the problem is with me. Maybe I'm not aggressive enough. Maybe I don't take enough risks. Maybe I play it too safe. But at least when people ask me what I have done I can say that I have done something, rather than hiding behind a web of lies so thick and sticky that I'd eventually believe them myself.

There comes a time in one's life when one has to rock the boat. Maybe that time is fast approaching for me. Maybe not. But when that time does indeed arrive, everyone will know that I rocked the boat.

NFSMW Update

I am now Blacklist #6.

I won the Lambo Gallardo. But my plan of souping up a Ford GT is slightly off keel. You see, so far I've only gotten ONE unique performance part upgrade. Sucks, but i was after the pink slips.

At least I have the Lambo. And the game just told me that I could race previous races. So I can save cash. Lots of it. Because I've spent on the Lambo. Spent big bucks.

I also changed the look of my Cayman S. Now the Cayman is dark gray. And the Lambo is yellow. Sweet. So now I'm trying to decide whether I should fix up the Supra and turn it into a faster car too. I still like using the Supra. Still good for some laughs. And I still use it to get my bounty up. Because I do not want the Cayman S or the Gallardo to get too much bounty.

But man is it hard to get my bounty up. If I get a bounty above 100k I usually get caught. Any lower and it'll take me forever to reach 3 mil.

Oh and the game hangs once in a while. Like when my bounty was up 100k and I was about to get to a hiding place. Sigh.

I have a bad feeling once I get the Ford GT I won't be playing anymore... I hope not. But if I do get that car, I'm going to use the Gallardo to increase my bounty.
